The $5 million fund, seeded by the MacArthur Foundation and Ford Foundation, will build on momentum in the region from the youth-led #ENDSARS movement. It will inspire, empower, and equip a new cadre of leaders with skills for personal, organizational, and community transformation. The discussion will center around the new Fund and what’s next for the emerging group of youth leaders in Nigeria.

When COVID-19 became a global health crisis in the spring of 2020, public health experts worldwide heard the same concern: financial support from government and international organizations was failing to reach crucial, community-based organizations (CBOs) trusted by those hit hardest by the pandemic.

About the same time, friends Xavier Nogueras and Cesar Rolon saw the virus devastate Latinx communities in Chicago.
